Terms and Conditions, Payment Policy, and Frequently Asked Questions

Effective from 1 April 2026 careerlution.co.uk Governing law: England and Wales

These terms govern the coaching services provided by Careerlution. By purchasing any service or booking a session, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the terms set out in this document. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

1. Services

1.1 What Careerlution provides

Careerlution offers one-to-one tech career transition coaching and tech-adjacent career support. Services are delivered through structured coaching packages and standalone add-on sessions. The specific deliverables included in each package are detailed on the Careerlution website and confirmed at the point of purchase.

1.2 Coaching packages

Three coaching tiers are available: Step, Stride, and Sprint. Details of each tier are set out on the Careerlution website.

Each package includes a defined number of coaching sessions and deliverables as described on the website. The sessions and materials included are dependent on the package purchased. Unused sessions roll over and do not expire within the duration of the package.

1.3 CV review add-on

A standalone CV review session is available at £30 for 15 minutes. This session is designed for clients who have completed their CV and wish to have it reviewed by a coach. Following the session, a written follow-up email will be provided summarising any changes discussed. This add-on is separate from the coaching packages and is booked and paid for independently.

1.4 Delivery method

All sessions are delivered via Zoom or WhatsApp call, depending on client preference. Sessions are booked through the Careerlution Calendly booking page. Clients may book sessions up to one week or more in advance. Careerlution will only make times available on the booking page when the coach is able to attend, so clients can rely on the availability shown as accurate.

2. Payment Policy

2.1 Payment methods

Careerlution accepts payment via the following methods:

  • Klarna — available as a payment option at checkout
  • Bank transfer — details provided at checkout or on request

International payments are accepted. Where payment is made by bank transfer from an international account, any applicable transfer fees are the responsibility of the client. Payment must be received in full, or the first instalment confirmed, before coaching sessions are scheduled or materials are released.

2.2 Payment plans

A monthly payment plan is available for all coaching packages. The total cost of the package is split into three equal monthly instalments. The first instalment is due at the time of purchase. Subsequent instalments are due on the same calendar date in each following month. Payment plans are processed via the payment method selected at checkout.

Note

Careerlution reserves the right to pause or suspend coaching sessions in the event that a scheduled instalment payment is not received. Sessions will resume once the outstanding payment has been made.

2.3 Pricing

All prices are listed on the Careerlution website and are stated in pounds sterling (GBP). Prices are subject to change. The price confirmed at the point of purchase applies for the duration of that package.

3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

3.1 Session cancellation by the client

Clients must notify Careerlution of a session cancellation at least two hours before the scheduled start time. Notification must be sent via the client's registered email address or through the Calendly platform. Where a session is cancelled with the required notice, the client may rebook the session at a time of their choosing from the available slots on the Calendly booking page.

Sessions cancelled with less than two hours notice, or where the client does not attend without notification, will be forfeited and cannot be rebooked. Careerlution reserves the right to make a reasonable exception at its discretion in the case of a genuine emergency.

3.2 Session cancellation by Careerlution

Careerlution is committed to attending all scheduled coaching sessions. In the event that a session must be cancelled or rescheduled by the coach, the client will be notified as early as possible and a replacement session will be offered at no additional cost. Where a client cannot accommodate the rescheduled time, an alternative available slot will be provided.

3.3 Refund policy

Careerlution will issue a refund where a client requests one within 5 working days of purchase, provided that the transition materials have not yet been delivered. Working days are Monday to Friday inclusive. Saturdays and Sundays are not working days.

Careerlution will send transition materials within 10 working days of the purchase date. Where a client requests a refund within 5 working days and materials have not yet been sent, a full refund will be processed. No refund will be issued after materials have been delivered or after the 5-working-day window has passed, whichever comes first.

Note

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Careerlution contact email address. Careerlution will acknowledge the request within 3 working days and process any eligible refund within 10 working days of confirmation.

3.4 Non-refundable situations

Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:

  • The transition materials have been delivered
  • More than 5 working days have passed since the date of purchase
  • The client has attended one or more coaching sessions
  • The client has not cancelled in writing via the registered email address

4. Outcomes and Coach Commitments

4.1 No guarantee of employment or interviews

Careerlution does not guarantee that a client will secure employment, receive interview invitations, or achieve any specific career outcome as a result of coaching. Career transitions depend on a wide range of factors outside the control of the coach, including labour market conditions, employer decisions, and the individual circumstances of the client.

That said, Careerlution is genuinely confident in the quality of support provided. Based on previous client history and testimonials, the coaching approach has supported a significant number of professionals in making successful transitions into tech and tech-adjacent roles. This confidence reflects the standard of the work, not a promise of a specific result.

4.2 Coach commitments

Careerlution commits to the following throughout the duration of a coaching engagement:

  • Attending all scheduled coaching sessions
  • Delivering transition materials within 10 working days of purchase
  • Responding to client email enquiries within 3 working days, Monday to Friday
  • Maintaining the quality and relevance of all coaching materials and guidance

4.3 Between-session support

Coaching support is session-based. Clients have access to Careerlution’s personal email address for any questions that arise between sessions. Responses will be provided within 3 working days. Working days are Monday to Friday inclusive. Saturdays and Sundays are not working days for the purposes of response times.

Note

Between-session email support is provided for brief queries only and does not constitute an additional coaching session. Where a query requires more than a written response, the client will be directed to book an appropriate session.

5. Client Materials and Intellectual Property

5.1 Protection of client information

All personal and professional information provided by a client in the course of coaching is treated as confidential. This includes but is not limited to:

  • CV and work experience history
  • LinkedIn profile content
  • Personal statements and professional biography
  • Career history, employment records, and qualifications
  • Skills mapping and assessment outputs
  • Job search strategy and target role information
  • Any other professional or personal information shared during sessions or by email

Client information is used solely for the purpose of delivering the agreed coaching service. It is not shared with third parties, sold, or used for any purpose beyond the client's coaching engagement without explicit written consent.

5.2 Intellectual property

All coaching materials produced by Careerlution, including CV templates, writing guides, skills mapping frameworks, session resources, and any other documents or tools created as part of the service, remain the intellectual property of Careerlution. These materials are provided to assist the client's individual career journey and are licensed for personal use only.

Client materials produced by Careerlution must not be:

  • Reproduced or duplicated in whole or in part
  • Forwarded or shared with any third party without written permission
  • Posted or published on public forums, websites, or social media platforms
  • Used for commercial purposes or as the basis for a competing service

This restriction applies to the frameworks, templates, and structural elements of the materials, not to the factual career content that belongs to the client. A client may of course use their own completed CV, LinkedIn profile, and personal statement as they see fit.

5.3 Confidentiality of these terms

This document is private and confidential. It is provided to clients of Careerlution for the sole purpose of setting out the terms that govern the coaching engagement between Careerlution and the individual client. These terms must not be shared, forwarded, reproduced, published, or distributed to any third party in any form without the prior written consent of Careerlution.

This restriction applies whether the document is shared in full or in part, in its original format or otherwise. Careerlution reserves the right to take appropriate action where a breach of this clause is identified.

6. Client Conduct

Clients are expected to engage with coaching sessions and communications in a professional and respectful manner. Careerlution reserves the right to terminate a coaching engagement, without refund, where a client's conduct is abusive, threatening, or otherwise unprofessional.

Where a client has a concern or complaint about any aspect of the service, they are asked to raise it in writing via the Careerlution contact email address. Careerlution is committed to addressing any issues promptly and professionally.

7. Limitation of Liability

Careerlution's liability to a client in connection with any coaching service is limited to the total amount paid by the client for that service. Careerlution is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss arising from the coaching engagement, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of employment opportunity, or loss of business.

Nothing in these terms limits Careerlution's liability for fraud, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other matter that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

8. Data Protection

Careerlution processes personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Personal data collected in the course of providing coaching services includes contact information, professional background, and any other information shared by the client for the purpose of their coaching engagement.

This data is:

  • Collected only for the purpose of delivering coaching services
  • Stored securely and not retained beyond the period necessary for the coaching engagement
  • Not shared with third parties except where required by law
  • Not used for marketing without the client's explicit consent

Clients have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal data at any time. Requests should be submitted in writing to the Careerlution contact email address and will be responded to within 30 calendar days.

9. Dispute Resolution

In the event that a client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the service, they should contact Careerlution in writing via the registered email address in the first instance. Careerlution will acknowledge the complaint within 3 working days and work in good faith to reach a resolution within 10 working days.

Where a resolution cannot be reached directly, clients may seek independent advice from Citizens Advice or refer the matter to an appropriate alternative dispute resolution body. These terms do not affect the client's statutory rights under UK consumer law.

10. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or connected with these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
